These attributes can be traced back to his genetic background. Odyssey happens to be the grandson of two famous herdsire's, Vengador and Accoyo Godfather! We had a hunch if we bred Mercedes to our Legacy son, Taos, the combination should be spectacular. With Taos' lingering fineness and elite fleece, paired with Mercedes density, something good should happen. That something good was Nirvana! At 8 months of age, he won Reserve Color Champion in white! This also happened to be a very large class of 21 competitive animals. Nirvana has the fleece characteristics that we had hoped for, fineness, extreme crimp style, density and staple length.
Mercedes carries density, superb crimp and fineness to compliment the handle. At 4 years old in 2010, Mercedes was holding a 20.7 FD 3.6 SD 17.6% CV. Mercedes has that classic Accoyo look complimented by a heavy well proportioned frame.
She has been re-bred to Taos for a fall 2011 cria and we hope the results are just as good! |
